We know women are pretty good when it comes to present-buying – and in fact Christmas organisation in general! But with so many lists to keep track of at this time of year, we can sometimes do with a helping hand. So we’ve sought help from our brother site, Average Joes, who have pulled together ideas to buy our partners for Christmas.
Here’s David from Joes sharing some top tips on what your boyfriend really wants for Christmas when it comes to sports and fitness…
If your Joe is the sporty type, there are plenty of ridiculously cool bits of kit on the market. But naturally you need make sure you know what you’re getting. And that’s where we come in!
A great place to start when it comes to sporty gifts for a Joe is with a fitness tracker. We’re pretty much all using them now and we recommend this TomTom Spark 3, which also doubles up as an mp3 player, meaning you can leave your phone at home! Featuring a built-in heart rate monitor which you can see on your wrist, no chest strap is needed with the Spark 3. And not only that, there’s also over 3GB of music storage and GPS tracking thrown in for good measure too. Available over at the TomTom website for £219.99.
Whilst Apple’s announcement of the Air Pods have made them more mainstream, wireless headphones have been around for an age – and the perfect ones for fitness are the new VerveLoop from Motorola. Water and Sweat resistant, wireless and incredibly light. If you like music with your workout then look no further.
A sturdy bike lock is always a good idea for any cyclists out there and one of the best we’ve come across is the Litelok. Litelok is the world’s lightest, flexible Gold security bike lock, and can withstand ‘well over 5 minutes of sustained attack from common theft tools’. Liteloks have been thoroughly tested by independent tested by independent bodies, including Sold Secure, achieving their highest security rating: Sold Secure Gold. Available from the Litelok website for £85.
For gym-goers, we like this HardCore Foam Roller. Extra-rigid so you enjoy an extra firm physio self-massage, loosen those tight muscles and relieve those aches and pains in your upper/lower back, hamstrings, and basically any muscle in your body. It’s also extremely lightweight at just 570 grams, making it perfectly portable for the gym. Perfect for runners, cyclists and boxers too. Available at Amazon for £19.95.
The new breed of Fitness Bands seem to be non-stop, and one of the best is the Vue by iFIT. Featuring a Heart Monitor and dedicated app, it gives you all the info you need and when you need it without breaking the bank. Available now for less than £100.
