Spring Fashion Edit

Today we’re stringing together some of our favourite trends for spring and showing you our top picks from high street stores!

Our Spring Fashion Edit

Take a look at our top picks for the new season.

Blouses

We adore the range of blouses and shirts on offer at the moment. They have become an essential part of an office wardrobe, but the slouchier shirts available in shops such as Topshop and ASOS scream Sunday ‘I woke up like this’ style.

One of the big trends for spring/summer 2016 is romantic ruffles. We love this ruffle-necked blouse from Topshop, which is flirty and playful paired with an A-line skirt or tapered trousers. Another trend for spring/summer 2016 is plaid patterns. This Dorothy Perkins longline navy shirt with waist-high slits is a really stylish piece to layer over jeans, leggings or just tights if you are feeling daring!

We can almost feel spring in the air, the days are getting longer and the days are brighter and sunnier, however the temperature doesn’t always match up. UK company HotSquash are a clever brand who are aiming to bridge the gap between fashion and warmth – hallelujah! They have a lovely collection of pieces especially designed to keep you warm and regulate your body temperature without the need for excessive layering. We love the blouses available in a range of colours, available from House of Fraser or online.

Denim

Denim has been a huge staple in every girl’s wardrobe for a while now. At the moment we are loving the continuation of the 70’s style, with denim skirts and culottes widely available on the high street. One key piece we spotted in Dorothy Perkins is this cute denim pinafore dress. It can be styled for so many different occasions from office wear to a picnic in the park. We would style it with this adorable striped top from Oasis and some Dr Martens to give the look some much-needed grunge.

Cold shoulder

A huge trend this year is cold shoulder tops, they are a great way to wear something playful without revealing too much skin. If you would rather cover up your stomach or legs, then revealing a bit of shoulder is a great alternative. This Topshop playsuit combines the trend of plaid and bare shoulders to come up top fashion trumps in our books. We would pair the playsuit with some mid-heel strappy sandals from Missguided and a giant tassel clutch from ASOS.

So those are our top trend pieces for our spring fashion edit that we will be incorporating into our wardrobe over the next few months.

Rhian John

I am 24 years old and currently working in an administrative role in Norwich. I studied Speech and Language Therapy at UEA and since graduating in 2010 I have been working in London, I moved back to Norwich in September for love (of the fine city, and my boyfriend!). I have no idea what my future holds, but I am looking into doing a PGCE next year to teach English at secondary school level. I enjoy drinking and socialising on the weekend and going to gigs and club nights. I love reading blogs and have them to blame for my ever growing make-up drawers and wardrobe.
