Ding-dong the bells are going to chime! We are saying ‘I do’ to the announcement of a brand new ASOS bridal collection, bringing affordable wedding dress options to the modern bride.
In wedding-world it’s surprisingly difficult to find a decent wedding dress for a normal sum of money. If you’re after something even brushing traditional (white, cream or ivory – with perhaps a touch of satin, silk or lace) – you rapidly find prices spiralling towards the £1,000 mark and beyond (no, we’re not kidding, although we wish we were!). Even high street stores can expensive, despite offering dresses that in any other context our colour would be a sub-£200 evening maxi.
So we were excited to hear about the launch of the ASOS bridal collection – fabulous wedding options at under £400 for a complete look.
Following the success of their bridesmaid range, ASOS are hoping to extend their fashion savvy to the new bridal collection, which ranges from sizes 6 to 30 and includes maxi dresses, vintage-style beading and even a jumpsuit.
So does the collection live up to the hype? We’ll admit, we’re pretty impressed – here’s a few of our favourites, plus a couple of wildcards. We’d love you know what you think!
Stylish, modern, elegant – this v-neck dress swishes out into a gorgeous fishtail and small train. Perfect if you want something that feels like a wedding dress, but desire soft and slinky rather than big and princess-y!
This number gives Jenny Packham a run for her money! A gorgeous beaded, vintage-style design. This elegant wedding dress would look equally fab at a formal country house or hotel venue, or to add a bit of glamour to a boho barn.
A clever, modern take on wedding dress chic – this kimono-style dress gives a definite nod to fashion if you want to add a bit of catwalk flair to your walk down the aisle.
Prettiness personified. We love the soft combination of pretty lace sleeves, a hint of skin and flowing A-line skirt. This is a lovely modern update on a traditional style of wedding dress, which would be stunning for an autumn or winter wedding.
This is the one to go for if you’re feeling very fashion-brave (speaking as a short person, tall probably also helps!). The fluid lines of this jumpsuit will look gorgeous as you stride down your own personal catwalk aisle. The cape is a lovely modern twist on a trailing veil.
So, so pretty! We love the embellishment on this maxi dress – perfect for a countryside or boho themed wedding or equally elegant for an evening do.
