AW13 at Next sees a combination of the seasons must-have checks, denim and leather drawn together with clever tailoring. The occasionwear features lace sprinkled with beautiful embellishment that would twinkle delicately under cocktail bar lights and the home collections stands out with vintage opulence and the spirit of the English woodland.
We were lucky enough to be invited to preview the Next AW13 collections and after being overwhelmed by the abundance of beautiful fabrics, textures and cosy homeware soon to be in stores, we’re glad we accepted with such a keen smile.
The womenswear collections were a pleasure to browse, re-inventing trends with with slightly more elegant tailoring and using bold colours to offset more subtle checks. Our favourite collection was the occasion wear which featured lots of lace and embellishment which made us feel like a kid in a sweet shop. We also loved the coats. Whether they were chunky faded tartan with a retro shape or longline more formal blazers, we felt they called out to us…’you need me in your life’.
And the shoes. Oh the shoes.
The warm style flowed through to the home collections where we saw Modern Romance with it’s light lace shades, Smart Artisan and a premium collection encapsulating five star luxury. Our favourite however were the Heartland pieces. Warm, earthy tones channeling the English woodland, create the perfect environment for Autumn/Winter hibernation.
Overall we were impressed. We look forward to bringing out the cosy winter wardrobe and lighting the fire.
NOT that we’re wishing the Summer away.
