It’s the trailer we’ve all been waiting for! Finally we get a sneak peak of the highly-anticipated film adaptation of Absolutely Fabulous.
The Ab Fab movie will see Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley reuniting as the iconic Edina and Patsy along with the rest of the original cast, including Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Mother.
The film will follow Edina and Patsy (who are still oozing glitz and glamour) living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots. Everything is going fabulously until the pair are blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, which results in them getting involved in a media storm and relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi.
Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they make a plan to escape there permanently and live the high life forever more. In true Ab Fab style, the cast will be joined by a host of A-list stars from the acting, music and fashion worlds. So far, the cameos include Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Harry Styles, Kim Kardashian and many, many more!
Mandie Fletcher (Blackadder, Absolutely Fabulous) is directing from a script by Jennifer Saunders. Whilst Jon Plowman (Absolutely Fabulous, The Vicar of Dibley) and Damian Jones (The Iron Lady, Belle) will be producing. There are some big names in the executive producer chairs too, from the likes of Steve Milne, Christian Eisenbeiss, Christine Langan, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, and Maureen Vincent.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Saunders confessed her excitement for the film: “I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best.”
