The title should actually read Super Sunday, because in the very early hours of Sunday morning, Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Jess Ennis-Hill could replicate what happened four years ago at the London 2012 games.
Here at Average Janes, we shall be staying up till the early hours of Sunday morning to watch – and hopefully witness triple gold on the track and field in Rio.
What are the possibilities of our GB athletes reproducing the same gold medal winning performances in Rio de Janeiro?
Greg is currently the Commonwealth, European, Olympic and World Champion, making him the 5th British athlete to ever hold all four major titles simultaneously. He became a dad for the first time in 2014, citing that fatherhood has put jumping into perspective.
Greg will have to out-jump a couple of on-form Americans at 00:53am on Sunday morning, but this red-headed Milton Keynes jumper will no doubt want to add another major title to his already embellished trophy cabinet.
Mo has been seeing double gold every year since London 2012. He won double gold in 2013 at the World Championships in Moscow. He was crowned champion twice in 2014 (in Zürich at the European Championships) and then again last year, at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.
On Sunday morning at 01:25am Mo will be competing in the 10,000m – the start of his double-gold Olympic campaign. It will not be a swim in the Guanabara Bay for Mo, as the Kenyan middle-distance runners will make him run fast and tactically.
Jess is aiming to defend her Olympic title, having had a rest from training, as well as injury recuperation, giving birth to her first child and winning the 2015 World Championships in the four years leading up to Rio 2016.
Jess will see stiff competition from Canadian heptathlete Brianne Theisen-Eaton, who has set a world leading heptathlon score this year, as well as our other GB representative, Katarina Johnson-Thompson. Watch Jess in the final event, 800m, at 03:15am on Sunday morning.
Will you be staying up to the early hours of Sunday morning to watch team GB?
