Only The Brave Trailer

The first trailer has just landed for Only the Brave, an American drama film starring Josh Brolin and Miles Teller.

Based on the true story of an elite group of firefighters who battled the Yarnell Hill wildfire, which blazed through Arizona in June 2013, we reckon Only The Brave could be a strong contender at this year’s Oscar’s.

With Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) in the director’s chair and a cast including the likes of Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch and Jennifer Connelly, we’re sure it’s going to be an edge-of-your-seat epic.

Plot-wise, the film depicts the events running up to and during the 2013 Yarnell Hill wildfire, the deadliest U.S. wildfire since the 1991 East Bay Hills fire. On June 28, 2013, the wildfire was ignited by lightning and two days later it overran and killed 19 City of Prescott firefighters, members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.

Speaking to GQ director Joseph Kosinski explained that the reason he wanted to tackle the harrowing story was because it’s such an important story, for those lives that were lost and for the effects of climate change.

He said: “We want to honor the legacy they built. And it couldn’t be more relevant. There are 180 separate wildfires going on right now. And every year—because of global warming and a lot of other factors—it’s happening more and more.”

As for the trailer, the film looks like it’s set to be a cinematic masterpiece, simultaneously capturing the breathtaking allure and the imminent danger for those Granite Mountain Hotshots who valiantly battle the ferocious fires.
