Let us introduce to you our new favourite tech star: the Skullcandy Grind Wireless. A fantastic set of headphones that not only produce great sound quality, but look super stylish too.
With over-the-ear headphones all the rage at the moment, we were pleased to be asked to test out the new Skull Candy Grind Wireless, and we were very impressed.
Small and sleek, Skullcandy always get style spot-on. The wireless range comes in six colour ways, including our personal favourite: a combination of green, pink and brown. We love the aztec-type design on the inside of the headband too. Speaking of the headband, there’s a small dip incorporated into the top of it, allowing the fabric to keep off your head, making the fit extremely comfortable.
One feature we find a necessity for great headphones is their noise-cancellation quality. Skullcandy Grind Wireless definitely passed the test. Their ‘Supreme Sound’ audio cancelled out a great deal of background noise, even on a noisy tube journey.
Another great aspect is the handy buttons on the the right ear cup. There’s a power button that doubles as a pause, play and track skip control, as well as plus and a minus volume buttons. Our only flaw is the lack of an independent ‘skip’ button, as double and triple-pressing the pause/play button sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.
The Skullcandy Grind Wireless have a lot of cool extra features. The 12 hour battery life is really handy for long journeys, and charging them up again takes hardly any time at all. If you wanted a break from bluetooth wireless listening (although we’re not sure why), included with the headphones is a back-up AUX cable.
Finally, the built-in microphone works a dream with wireless calls. We were particularly intrigued to see if this feature worked well, and were pleasantly surprised.
