Since the release of the first ever laptop, the Osbourne 1, in 1981, laptop technology has come a long way. Skip ahead to 2016 and another world first is being ticked off the techie list: the world’s thinnest laptop, the Acer Swift 7.
In August 2016, Acer unveiled its new Swift 7 series of ultra-thin and lightweight notebook PCs at the IFA Global Press Conference in Berlin. The latest Swift 7 campaign video features Becky Sheeran, a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger, who discusses how the laptop is small, stylish, compact and perfect for her on-the-go lifestyle.
Before you check out the video, we’ve listed our top 5 reasons why we think Acer’s new Swift 7 series is leading the trend in style:
We mentioned that the Acer Swift 7 is the world’s thinnest laptop, but exactly how thin are we talking? Well it’s less than 1cm in height! The exact measurements are 0.39 inches (9.98 mm) in height and a mere 2.48 pounds (1.1 kg) in weight, so it provides incredible portability.
One of the biggest issues with laptops is their short battery life and having to lug around a bulky charger when you’re out and about. But the Acer Swift 7 has a whopping 9 hours of battery life, so it’s the perfect notebook for Janes on the go!
Stylish and sophisticated, we love the Swift 7’s black-and-gold dual tone durable all-aluminum design. Plus for those of you who fear about scratching the glass screen, it’s tough Corning Gorilla Glass adds superior scratch resistance to the 13.3-inch Full HD display.
Not only is the laptop small, but it’s speedy too. The Acer Swift 7 offers top-of-the-line performance delivered through a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, with up to 8GB of memory. It also has the latest wireless technology delivering reliable and faster connections.
Dual USB ports are included for quick data transfer, connection to an external display, and to charge the notebook. Another plus is the HD webcam with High Dynamic Range imaging support, which provides clear, bright and detailed images.
In at number 5, we love Acer’s attention to detail with the Swift 7’s built-in fingerprint scanner located at the upper right-hand corner of the palm rest. It works in conjunction with Windows Hello for enhanced security and takes less than one second from scanning a fingertip to accessing the desktop.
It will also recognise specific people, deters inappropriate behaviour and helps to eliminate fraudulent activity.
