Summer Bikini Trends 2013

The recent hot, sunny weather has inspired us to start planning for our holidays. But although we love going away, like most Janes we dread having to trail through changing rooms trying to find that perfect piece of beachwear.

So to take the stress out of swimwear, here are some of high street faves to help you work the summer bikini trends.

1950’s Vintage

High-waisted bikini bottoms and structured, halterneck tops are key to this retro-inspired trend. Fabulous for curvy shapes (or for enhancing those of us with less curves) – this trend oozes old-school glamour. We love the vintage floral print on this Laura Ashley number (£22 top, £18 shorts) and the cool greens of this leafy design (£34).

Bandeau

The Bandeau is making a comeback for 2013. Perfect for avoiding awkward tan lines when you want to wear your strapless maxi after a long day on the beach. Try this pretty paisley print from Warehouse (top £14, bottoms £12). Or if you’re after a bit more support, we love this structured design from in pillar-box red (top £9, bottoms £12).

Digital Print

In both bikinis and monokinis this bold trend is huge this summer. Make an impact on the beach or around the pool in photo-real prints like this tiger bandeau bikini from (£32) – or this gorgeous tropical monokini from New Look (£24.99).

Bright, mismatched colour

Mix-up your top and bottoms for a bright, playful look that suits every shape. We’re loving these ruffled bikini separates from New Look which come in 10 colours (and we have it on good authority from a fellow Jane that these have perfect staying-power for those of you who love making a splash at the pool). Top £6.99, bottoms £3.99.

So there you have it – our top picks helping you spend less time shopping and more time packing!
