Pitch Perfect 2 Trailer

Acca-scuse me!? That’s right! The Barden Bellas will be singing their way back into our hearts for a Pitch Perfect sequel in May 2015!

After it’s debut in 2012, Pitch Perfect became a breakout hit, grossing an extremely impressive $65 million at the US box office. Everywhere we went people were singing along to the soundtrack or flinging a plastic cup around in an attempt to learn the Cups routine!

Now two years on, Anna Kendrick has reunited with her fellow Barden Bellas: Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, and Alexis Knapp – along with some of the Treblemakers: Skylar Astin and Adam Devine for Pitch Perfect 2.

The returning cast will also be joined by one of our favourite upcoming actresses Hailee Steinfeld (Begin Again, True Grit, Ender’s Game) and the Sons of Anarchy Golden Globe winning actress Katey Sagal. Steinfield commented on playing the role of new group member Emily in the film: “She has her insecurities and she wants to know that she is a Bella because she’s a great singer and she’s a great performer.”

Elizabeth Banks who produced the original and played a small but fantastic role in the film has returned to direct the sequel. It will be her first feature film director credit but we trust she has done an amazing job!

In a recent interview with Yahoo, Banks discussed the sequel, she refused to hint about the relationship between Beca (Kendrick) and Jessie (Astin) but did divulge the overarching theme of the film: “The girls are now graduating seniors. They’re coming to the end of their time as Bellas and figuring out how to sort of leave the nest and the comfort of each other’s friendship and figure out what they’re going to do with the rest of their lives.”

In terms of the music you can expect to hear, prepare for more a capella greatness! Including performances from some well known a capella groups such as: Pentatonix, the Filharmonic and Penn Masala.

Whilst we still have quite a while to wait for the sequel, get excited by watching the trailer below…
