Osteria 60, Kensington

With a menu that boasts delicious antipasti, mouth-watering secondi and utterly divine desserts, upscale Italian restaurant Osteria 60 is the perfect place for date night.

Situated in London’s five-star Baglioni Hotel, opposite Kensington Park Gardens, we were over the moon to taste-test Osteria 60’s Italian cuisine just for the location alone.

Inside Osteria, Italian design firm Rebosio + Spagnulo have drawn inspiration from traditional Milanese trattorias. The walls are textured in gold, with bronze pedant lights hanging over the 15 seater bar and tables.

As for the food, the a la carte menu has a fantastic range of choice, so we opted for both meat and vegetarian options. For antipasti, we chose the buttermilk, smoked cucumber gazpacho with wild garlic, as recommended by our very friendly and knowledgable waiter Antonino. It was extremely tasty and full of flavour.

For mains, we couldn’t resist trying the 36-hour slow-cooked Neapolitan Ragù, topped with delicious soft slivers of raw beef – an ingenious addition to the Italian favourite. As for dessert, we chose Osteria 60’s own deconstructed tiramisu and the chocolate mondrian, a combination of praline and white chocolate mousse, atop a chocolate biscuit, finished with homemade vanilla ice cream.

Wash it all down with just about any drink you could wish for from the extensive drinks menu. Cocktails range from £15- £18 a pop, but if you’d prefer sticking to wine, there’s a vast range of Italian fine wines to choose from.

So what are you waiting for? Reserve your table today on Osteria 60’s website. We would highly recommend booking a spot table on Osteria’s beautiful terrace facing Kensington park gardens, it’s the ideal setting for an unforgettable Italian dining experience.

Osteria 60 is located inside Baglioni Hotel, 60 Hyde Park Gate, SW7 5BB. The nearest tube station is Gloucester Road.
