The first official trailer has just landed for the upcoming romantic drama film, Me Before You, and it looks tear-jerkingly beautiful.
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by JoJo Moyes, the film centres on Louisa ‘Lou’ Clarke played by Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) who lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. Her life is in a bit of a mess as she goes from one dead-end job to the next trying to help her family with money.
Her ‘new’ career challenge sees her taking on a carer’s role for a wealthy young banker called Will Traynor, played by Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games), who became wheelchair bound in an accident that happened two years previous.
Also starring the abs-solutely perfect Matthew Lewis of Harry Potter fame and Jenna Coleman (Emmerdale, Waterloo Road), we are just as excited about the supporting cast than those in the lead roles.
Directed by the super talented English theatre director Thea Sharrock, who has previously worked with big names such as Daniel Radcliffe, Kiera Knightly, Damien Lewis and Tom Hiddleston, we can expect a unique adaptation of the much-loved book.
From the looks of the trailer and from our fond memories of reading the book, you’ll need to take a box of tissues to the cinema with you. Or maybe two boxes, just incase. The script is co-written by Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter, the writing duo behind The Fault In Our Stars, Paper Towns, and The Spectacular Now, so we’re in safe hands as they know how to handle emotional territory.
