James Purefoy: Pure-magic

Although many a role had been trodden before, Brit born actor James Purefoy stays in our mind as the noble, enigmatic Prince Edward in the 2001 film A Knight’s Tale. He now however sets his mind to a rather more sinister role…

The latest Brit to take on a huge American TV show, he was cast as Joe Carroll, a charismatic yet psychotic serial killer in The Following. He has graced our screen across many a film and TV series including John Carter, Channel 4’s Revenge, Resident Evil and Vanity Fair. Each time enthralling us in his sultry stare.

He once said “The age of chivalry isn’t dead, is it? It doesn’t even have to be a man or a woman that you could be chivalrous to. If somebody’s in trouble you give them a hand.” – which makes us love him more.

In 1995 he was screen tested for the role of James Bond in Goldeneye but ultimately lost out to Pierce Brosnan. However, we think he would’ve made the perfect Bond, besides being dashingly handsome, the name Purefoy means ‘my bond is in good faith’ – so there you have it… BIG mistake.

We give you these to help you dream about him. Again.
