Top picks summer lipsticks

Could you imagine a life without lipstick?! This little stick adds a splash of colour to our everyday lives and brings a colour pop smile to our faces! And bold lips were the stand-out trend at the SS13 shows.

During the summer we all feel like adding a bit of colour to our wardrobe. Whether it’s a neon cami, graphic midi or colour block heels. However, the universal way of adding colour? A bit of lippy!

When wearing bright shades, avoid looking like you’ve walked straight out of the Rocky Horror Show by keeping eyes minimal so the focus stays on your lips! And to avoid the faux-pas of lipstick teeth, use this little trick…after applying your lipstick, pop your index finger into your mouth and pull it out (not in a rude way!) and the excess lipstick will come off on your finger instead of your teeth!

If you have thinner lips, try to steer clear of dark colours as they’ll make your lips look thinner. Instead go for a paler colour and add a bit of gloss to the very centre of your upper and lower lips to give the illusion of fullness.

If you feel your teeth are looking a little yellow and want to make them seem brighter then go for a shade with blue undertones. The blue will counteract the yellow in the enamel making them look instantly whiter!

Thousands of brands and shades adorn shop shelves like a rainbow on steroids and it can be difficult to pin point the shade for you so here we share with you our top picks for summer lipsticks and you can decide which one is for you!
