In January, we can use all the help we can get when it comes to brightening eyes and making them look more awake. This nude coloured eye liner by Pixi is a great brightening tool to use on the bottom waterline to make your eyes look bigger and more alert. The Pixi liners are super creamy and pigmented for a long-lasting look.

We’ve tried out a fair few of mascaras on the blog, but this is definitely a current favourite. It is a great everyday mascara that has a really easy-to-use wand and distributes just the right amount of product. We’d definitely recommend giving it a go if you’re looking for an everyday mascara that doesn’t smudge throughout the day.
Feel Unique, £19.50
This is an old favourite on the Average Janes. This cleansing balm is an absolute treat to use for removing every scrap of makeup at the end of the day. It is a very soothing balm which can remove really tough eye makeup – it leaves the skin feeling really smooth and nourished. This balm can be quite tricky to find online and in stores, so good luck getting your mitts on it.
Clinique, £22
Essie are some of the best quality nail varnishes you can find on the high-street, we are so glad they are now easily available in Boots. This colour is a lovely taupe grey shade, it is a great subtle autumn alternative to your usual reds, blues and blacks which can sometimes be a bit intense.
Boots, £7.99
We got this during a January online shopping spree and it did not disappoint. The St Tropez self tanner mousses are a tanning staple in our books, but we were really intrigued to try the express version. You can apply the fake tan in the morning and shower after one hour if you want a light tan, two hours for a medium tan and three hours for a dark tan. We plumped for the medium tan and it really was a sun-kissed glow so we think two hours would be good for most skin types. The mousse consistency is so easy to use and foolproof in our opinion.
Boots, £33
