Get nailed this Valentine’s Day!

It’s fast-approaching that time of year when everyone picks a side for V-day. Whether you’re a lover or a hater, give your nails a makeover! Why wear your heart on your sleeve when you can wear it on your nails?

Whilst some of us love the traditional pinks and reds associated with Valentine’s Day, we’ve tried to cover all bases. So check out our handpicked selection of some fantastic nail art tutorials and get recreating your own awesome manicure!

LOVE LETTERS

We stumbled across this nail art tutorial a few months ago and thought it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day for those of you who want to try something different. Ultra talented Youtuber PackAPunchPolish gives an easy to follow step-by-step guide for how to create these quirky nails.

PASTEL SELECTION

When in doubt opt for some pastel hearts and maybe a gem or two. Youtuber Janelle Estep takes you through recreating these cute designs as well as suggesting which nail polishes are the best to use. If you don’t have access to a nail art brushes, you can always use tooth pics.

POP ART

One of our favourite Valentine’s Day nail art designs comes from Youtuber Martina Ek, who has created this amazing pop art inspired look. As one of the most tricky designs from our handpicked selection, give yourself enough time to master these nails. We would also suggest buying some normal paint brushes and cutting them to size for your designs, Martina has also made a video tutorial for how to do that too!

VALENTINE’S MIX

This tutorial will give you a whole bunch of fun Valentine’s Day nail ideas, so choose a few and get painting! Our personal favourites are: the roses and dotted heart on the white nail.

CLOUD 9

A less girly, but still super cute nail art design. CreativeNailArt have absolutely loads of tutorials on their page, so if you are looking for more nail inspiration check it out.

EASY HEARTS

Last but certainly not least, this one from Miss Pop is the easiest design to recreate. Simply file your nails into an almond shape and apply a base coat. Stroke the brush once to the left making the tip of the heart rounded and then wait a few minutes and do it for the right side. Eh voila!

Will you be giving yourself a Valentine’s manicure? Make sure to send us pictures! @tweetjanes
