December Beauty Edit

This month’s beauty edit seems to have an unintentional radiance theme, which is highly welcomed during winter when skin and hair tends to appear quite dull and dark.

Our December Beauty Edit

Read below for our top picks from this month.

NARS RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER

This concealer has been hyped up a lot by beauty experts and bloggers, so we were beyond excited to get hold of it this month. This concealer definitely deserves the hype it gets and honestly we have not used any other concealer since the moment this came into our possession. It is perfect for covering up blemishes, as well as under the eyes. Usually concealers can drag on the skin, especially around the eye area, but this is so creamy (hence the name) that it smooths onto the face perfectly. It is quite pricey, so maybe something to get as a Christmas present or to buy as a new year treat with your Christmas vouchers/money.

Available from Space NK, £22.

H&M BEAUTY

Next up is a super-affordable beauty range new from H&M. The beauty ranges from high street stores can be very variable and some stores manage to do it really well i.e. Topshop. It seems as though H&M are going to follow a similar path with their well-thought out range.

We picked up two products in store this month. Firstly, they had a huge variety of single eyeshadows that are irresistible to a make-up lover. This shade named Shiitake is a lovely shimmery taupe-brown which can work well on its own or built up into a smokey eye. We also picked up a radiance blusher in Rosy Brown which was intriguing because of its brown undertones. It is a highly pigmented blush, so make sure to have a light hand when using this. Lastly, can we just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful packaging which is to die for, especially considering the price of the items.

Check out the new range at H&M.

FIRST AID BEAUTY PURE SKIN FACE CLEANSER

This is another new addition and First Aid is a brand we were really excited to try as we’ve heard lots of the products are great and would suit blemish-prone skin. The cleanser removes surface oils, makeup, dirt and grime. It works well as the second-part of a double cleanse routine, We don’t think it is ideal for taking makeup off but once you have taken off the majority of your makeup this works to remove the last bits and leaves the skin feeling super clean and soft.

Available from Feel Unique, £14.

LABEL.M PROFESSIONAL HAIRCARE HONEY & OAT TRIO SET

This label.m set is a really great gift and would be a lovely last minute Christmas present. The packaging is super luxurious and the box is dressed in a gorgeous print from British fashion designer Giles Deacon’s autumn winter ’15 runway collection. Label.m have a huge range on offer but this Honey & Oat range smells incredible and works really well for dry, dehydrated hair. The intensive mask treatment works really well to add moisture and reduce frizz which makes it easier to style.

Available from label.m and currently reduced to £31.70.

That’s the products we’ve been using this month. What are your December favourites? Let us know @tweetjanes.

Rhian John

I am 24 years old and currently working in an administrative role in Norwich. I studied Speech and Language Therapy at UEA and since graduating in 2010 I have been working in London, I moved back to Norwich in September for love (of the fine city, and my boyfriend!). I have no idea what my future holds, but I am looking into doing a PGCE next year to teach English at secondary school level. I enjoy drinking and socialising on the weekend and going to gigs and club nights. I love reading blogs and have them to blame for my ever growing make-up drawers and wardrobe.
