Clutch bag beauty products

During the festive party season you need to have a foolproof kit at the ready for last minute touch ups and transformations that can be created in your pitiful work bathroom mirror. Here’s how to do it…

If we want to go from 5pm make-up misery to belle of the ball we firstly have to spritz a bit of Caudalie Beauty Elixir all over the face, this helps to reduce redness, even skintone and it just does wonders all round to tired and dull skin at the end of a long day.

Next up, we want to bring the face back to life a little more so we always reach for the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl highlighter in this handy clutch bag size and apply it to the cheeks and brow bone for some much needed illumination.

We find the popular eye crayons at the moment are perfect to pop in your handbag and can be used to create an amazing evening glam look, at the moment we’re loving the Kiko Eye Crayon number 10 it is a gorgeous gun metal colour with shimmer running through, this can be used for a simple look lined above the lashes and taken under the eye or built up to a full smokey eye look. No brushes needed, this works perfectly blended in with your fingers. We find that adding some sleek black eye liner over this really glams up our look ready for any party. We really enjoy using the Soap & Glory Supercat liquid black eye liner as it is so easy to use and could even be applied in the back of a taxi!!

For lips, you have one of two options a simple pink or a daring red, depending on how much time you have and how confident you’re feeling. If you fancy a nudey pink lip we love the the Studio 10 Longlast Velvet Liquid-Lips in 01 Tearose which smooths on like a lipgloss but if you leave it for a few minutes it leaves a matte finish and lasts for hours, we usually top this off with some Maybelline Shine gloss in Glorious Grapefruit. If you’re feeling a bit more daring and festive try the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Glam Plum Fulham for a deep berry colour that works with a light dab on the lips or built up to a full lipstick.

The last thing to do is spray some of your favourite perfume, we’re currently loving the Zara Femme perfume and they come in handy travel size bottles, perfect for a clutch size. Now you’re ready to go!

I am 24 years old and currently working in an administrative role in Norwich. I studied Speech and Language Therapy at UEA and since graduating in 2010 I have been working in London, I moved back to Norwich in September for love (of the fine city, and my boyfriend!). I have no idea what my future holds, but I am looking into doing a PGCE next year to teach English at secondary school level. I enjoy drinking and socialising on the weekend and going to gigs and club nights. I love reading blogs and have them to blame for my ever growing make-up drawers and wardrobe.
