Best haircare for your hair type

Over the last few months we’ve been testing out some great haircare for all different hair types and we’re happy to report back on our favourites!

Best haircare – whatever your hair type

Whatever your hair type, we’ve found some of the best products out there for swishy, shiny hair.

Best for fine/normal hair

If you have fine, thin and wimpy hair we would highly recommend trying out Time Bomb’s new capsule haircare collection. The collection is uniquely formulated to give you thicker, fuller hair.

The Time Bomb Larger Than Life Shampoo and Conditioner (£16.50 each) have a body-building formula to provide body and bounce to your hair. They also have a great Thicken + Lift Spray which aims to continue the plumping up process. The spray is really lightweight and great to use after the shower for an extra boost. Lastly, there is a hairspray which provides a flexible yet strong hold to the hair and is a great finishing product.

Best for coloured hair

If you have coloured hair, you will want treatments that help to maintain and deepen your current shade. We have tried out the Color Mask from KC professional which is a unique treatment designed for coloured hair. The shampoo contains loads of pigment for instant results and keeps hair bright and radiant to last until your next hair appointment.

They also have an intensive treatment that contains pro-vitamin B5 and keratin derivatives which helps to repair chemically treated hair. You can use the mask on damp hair and leave for 5-10 minutes with instant results. They have a wide range of colours available for different hair colours, we used the Pearl shade which is designed for light/blonde hair.

Best for blondes

A product that we have been loving for a long time is the Charles Worthington Colour Enhancer range. The shampoo and conditioner are enriched with lemon, honey and chamomile to lift dull blonde tones and boost shine. They also claim to maintain vibrancy and prevent colour fade to avoid those horrible brassy orangey tones. We love the smell of the haircare which leaves your hair smelling really citrusy and fresh. The shampoo and conditioners are really affordable at £5.99 each and they usually have special offers on at Boots.

Best for volume

If you have fine hair, chances are you’re looking for haircare that provides volume and strength. We’d highly recommend the SachaJuan Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. The products are infused with the innovative Ocean Silk and Thickening technology which helps to give smooth volume and moisturise. The conditioner works as a great detangler, which would be great for particularly unruly or curly hair. SachaJuan have created products that aid styling by adding in heat protection.

SachaJuan are a high-end professional brand, so they are slightly on the pricey side, the shampoo is £20 and the conditioner is £22, both available at John Lewis. Oh, and did we mention that apparently Kim Kardashian is a fan – need we say more.

That’s a few of our current favourites products for top-end haircare.

I am 24 years old and currently working in an administrative role in Norwich. I studied Speech and Language Therapy at UEA and since graduating in 2010 I have been working in London, I moved back to Norwich in September for love (of the fine city, and my boyfriend!). I have no idea what my future holds, but I am looking into doing a PGCE next year to teach English at secondary school level. I enjoy drinking and socialising on the weekend and going to gigs and club nights. I love reading blogs and have them to blame for my ever growing make-up drawers and wardrobe.
