The Market Hotel, Barcelona

feat-market-hotel-barcelona-spain

We love Barcelona, in fact one day we would like to spend a lot more time there, but for this trip, four days would have to do, and we chose to stay in a lovely little hotel. See our review of The Market Hotel in Barcelona.

Named after Saint Antoni Market; the first market built outside the city walls. Located in a very quiet ‘local-feeling’ part of Barcelona, we were only a 10-15 minutes wander away from the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas, and 20 minute walk from the beach.

Excellent for all that Barcelona has to offer, we didn’t have to hop on a tube once!

The hotel itself has a very ‘boutique’ and sophisticated feel about it, making you feel instantly special on arrival. With chandeliers, dark wood and colourful details, first impressions were that we had found a very unique place to stay.

The room was spacious, with a lovely mini terrace overlooking the carefree streets below. The bathroom was huge, with dark tiled walls and floors and quite possibly the best shower we have ever experienced!

After a refreshing mojito in the hotel’s Bar Rosso, which is beautifully designed with velvet couches and Asian lamps, we headed into the chic designer-looking restaurant for caprese salad, Iberian sirloin steak with parmesan risotto, followed by chocolate brownie cups.

The Market Hotel really has a unique character, combining a buzzy atmosphere, chic design and reasonably priced rooms from only €100 per night. With small details like free water and apples on reception, the hotel has a very personable atmosphere.

It truly would be hard to find anywhere as lovely for the same price, same location and luxurious surroundings.

We will definitely be staying at The Market Hotel again!
