Situated in the beautiful region of Perviance, Italy, the Nun Hotel and Spa is a modern wonder in ancient surroundings. The 5 star boutique hotel has just 18 rooms and nestles in the heart of Assisi and its famous hill.
Exposed rock and flint flows throughout the hotel as traditional features, and although you get a glimpse of the history surrounding this area and the old nunnery, it is all off set by some utterly stunning modern and contemporary twists.
Each room is individual in terms of lay-out, art and features and include all the modern amenities you would expect, including air-con, flat-screen TV and a incredible shower, though in our room we did have a distinct lack of plug sockets?!
As well as the rooms, the hotel has one of the most wonderful and tranquil spas we have ever witnessed. Wandering down dark and romantically lit winding stairs through a number of little caves to the downstairs spa. It feels a little like a Bond film, opening up into a large cavern filled with illuminated pools. The dark stone and white rock sit perfectly as one.
As well as the Spa, the hotel has relaxing patio and garden areas which allow you to get away from everything and everybody else, although small, the different levels within the grounds provide secluded areas.
If you ever want a quiet, luxury getaway, just 2 hours from Rome the Nun Relais is the perfect choice and one we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
