Summer is well and truly here. The sun is shining and now is the time to start thinking about those adventures. Whether it be exploring the delights of Canterbury or heading to Broadstairs in Kent for some of the best beaches in England, 2015 is all about the adventure.

If you are based in central London, it has never been easier to get out and explore. Green car sharing and, of course, an ever-dependable railway means being city bound is a thing of the past. Southeastern is your ticket to leaving the big city to go exploring; they have even based their Summer 2015 campaign around this very idea. We have picked our favourite guides from Southeastern below: one for you ‘urban explorers’ who still want to feel concrete but on a smaller scale and the other, for the true adventurer willing to try everything and anything once.

Our top places have to be:
Canterbury – Heritage at its heart, not many towns are as traditional or steeped in history than Canterbury. Super shopping and jaw-dropping architecture make it a must visit.

Stratford – Home of London 2012, Stratford’s enduring legacy of Olympic glory lies in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the London Aquatics Centre, which are now open to the public.

Sturry – Just a few miles from the centre of Canterbury, Greenfields Shooting Grounds is just the place for a little target practice.

Broadstairs – Our hometown and we actually love it. A beautiful beach and cove, great atmosphere and some superb watersports including sailing and water-skiing. Get down there!
