We’re almost half way through the year and we say you deserve a weekend away full of relaxation and pampering goodness. One location we think you might be interested in is The Spa at Ramside, based at Ramside Hall Hotel, near Durham, which promises to be one of the most luxurious in the UK when it opens its doors later this year in early August.
Not only does The Spa have a 25 metre swimming pool, an outdoor vitality pool, a hydrotherapy pool and an infinity pool, it also has a thermal suite offering a range of facilities and a specialised Sleep Sanctuary retreat.
The thermal suite includes an herbal sauna, Himalayan Salt Steam, Aroma Steam, Tepidarium and a sunken amphitheatre sauna. But if you can only do a certain amount of relaxing before the guilt sets in, the spa is also home to a state-of-the-art gym which will offer a programme of more than 40 classes every week.
The darkened Sleep Sanctuary retreat will offer Janes the opportunity to relax on soundwave therapy beds and in sleep pods, with the added option of building in the opportunity to use the light relaxation balcony which has a hanging hammock for two and an infinity pool. Bliss.
The spa has 14 treatment rooms which will offer a range of treatments using ESPA products for women mums’ to be and men if you really have to drag him along. These can be booked as part of a day package or coupled with a stay at the hotel.
“This is going to be one of the most exciting spa developments in the UK for some time,” said Jill Russell, Spa Director. “We’ve created somewhere really special, which will literally have something for everyone.”
That includes the spa’s own Rasul mud chamber and a beauty snug, which can also be booked exclusively for special occasions with use of the pedicure thrones, nail bar and make-up parlour.
If that wasn’t enough, The Spa at Ramside also has its own hairdressing salon by Reef and an Asian Fusion restaurant, which will offer a variety of snacks and meals throughout the day. So there really is nothing they haven’t covered.
