The Holy Birds, London

“Poulters and Cocktails” was all the intrigue we needed when Janes were invited down to the launch of East London’s newest restaurant venture.

Just a 5 minute walk from Liverpool Street Station, this ’60s-inspired eatery has caught onto a fabulous trend – birds and cocktails!

The Holy Birds is certainly unique. The swinging interior design and open plan environment compliments its casual style and leaves all the limelight for the delectable cocktails and poultry. The creation of brothers Gerry and Jon Calabrese, the focus of the food at The Holy Birds is all about the the finest organic poultry, and a menu stuffed with game.

We sampled a delicious selection of devilled eggs, pan-fried chicken liver, goose terrine toast, and polenta with wild mushrooms, but the full menu offers up a much plumper selection of dishes including chicken, pheasant, pigeon, grouse, guinea fowl and partridge.

The music was as chilled as our Moscow Mules – and Babycham made a classy comeback in branded champagne saucers.

Dubbing themselves “London’s Best Dressed Bird”, you’ve probably picked up that the focus at The Holy Birds is on a relaxed, informal atmosphere and a casual vibe, with an emphasis on friendly, welcoming service from the lovely waiting staff.

If you fancy some festive fizz in December, check out the £15 Babycham Bottomless Brunch – ideal for a lazy Saturday brunch date with your girl squad.

The popularity of this restaurant was apparent with the launch turn out, so we suggest you book your table pronto and check out the birds and booze for yourself.
