How long have you been counting down to the first episode of the Great British Bake Off? Series 7 starts at 8pm this Wednesday (24th August) and a fresh batch of 12 bakers will once more don their aprons for 10 tense weeks of showstoppers and technical challenges.

Brightly coloured jackets and an unlimited number of innuendos are essential for bake off, but what else must we have? A home baked creation to enjoy whilst watching the show!

Here are 5 fantastically speedy bakes that you can whip up before that 8pm deadline. Ready, set, BAKE!
