Holga Digital: Lo-Fi Toy Camera

LOMO-GIRL

In an age where just about everyone owns a smartphone, there has been a significant decline in the amount of people using cameras to take their snaps. All this is about to change though, thanks to the guys at Holga, who have turned their popular lo-fi film camera into a digital camera, and it’s set to become the latest trend!

For photography fanatics, the name Holga might ring a bell. Their first analog camera filled the 1980’s with edgy, vignette style photos and now, this popular camera is getting a digital makeover.

“We designed the Holga Digital for everyone from the first-time Holga user to the photography enthusiast.” The company writes. “You’ll be snapping beautiful images in a matter of seconds.”

The Holga Digital comes in four differernt colours: Black, White, Pink and for those who can’t decide on one colour, a mixed design of pink, blue, yellow and green.

One big difference between the analog Holga and the updated digital version is the improved image quality. The Holga Digital is a high-quality, glass optic with an F2.8 and F8.0 aperture setting, suitable for different environments and situations.

Another upside is that you can share your Holga Digital photos in an instant by using it’s WiFi SD card. This will allow you to Instragam your vintage-looking pictures or upload them to Facebook with ease!

Here are a few examples of pictures taken by the wonderful little camera:

Holga have taken the camera to crowd-funding site Kickstarter, and with 44 days still to go, they have already doubled their $50,000 overall goal to just over $100,000. This means that the project will be funded on October 15th and these lovely little cameras will become the next big thing!

If you would like to get your hands on one, you can pledge your support on their page and secure it for as little as $75 (around £39). Be quick though, because they have a limited number to give out and we are sure they are going to be very popular!

They ship worldwide, and the estimated delivery is December, so you’ll have it in time for taking Christmas snaps!
