There’s nothing quite like the hiss of tonic and clink of ice in that first post-work gin and tonic, especially on a summer evening. So why not mix-up this classic with our selection of premium gins for a refreshing twist on this traditional British spirit.

Ginspiration: the perfect Gin and Tonic

Here is our Ginspiration for the perfect gin and tonic (it’s a hard job we know, but someone had to do it…)

Gin Mare

Showing the influence of sunny Mediterranean shores, this has a sharp, savoury tang, bringing out the herbal elements of rosemary, thyme, olive and basil that infuse this gin. Pair with Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic and garnish your glass with lemon and a spring of rosemary – sounds unusual, but trust us, it’s really refreshing!
From £38 at Waitrose.

Hoxton Coconut and Grapefruit Gin

The coconut tang dominates this fruity gin, with the grapefruit giving an edge that prevents it becoming as sweet as Malibu rum. Perfect as an easy punch for a summer party – team it with Ting (grapefruit soda drink) for a tropical Jamaican flavour or Bitter Lemon if you want to counteract the sweetness.
From £28 at The Drink Shop.

Adnams First Rate

A crisp, clean juniper hit in this premium gin – smoothed out by tones of vanilla, and balanced by aniseed and cooling fennel. Mix with a your favourite tonic for a slightly more sophisticated take on the everyday G n’ T.
From £27 at Adnams.

Tanqueray Rangpur

If you love citrusy flavours, we’ve found the gin for you. The Rangur fruit is a cross between a mandarin and a lime – and this comes across in the sweet-sharp punch of the bold citrus flavours in this gin. Balance with a sharper tonic, such as Fever-Tree, for a refreshing sherbet lemon-lime tipple.
From £24 at Waitrose.
