In 2011 Kite’s founder Asad Hamir recognised this and knew it could change, and in 2014, born out of a love for fashion, personalised eyecare and the desire to create a new breed of optitions that encompasses both ideas, Kite’s flagship Westfield store opened.
The store is a joy. In what comes across as a high end, yet warm fashion boutique rather than an opticians, you are welcomed by friendly, smiling staff while browsing the shelves full of stunning frames. All British designed, inspired by London style, handcrafted in Italy and holding Zeiss lenses, the glasses are a breath of fresh air.


From preppy vintage to contemporary cool, you find yourself getting butterflies of excitement as you try on each frame, thinking which outfits you can team with them. And in the look of an eye a knowledgable, honest and helpful member of staff is by your side, helping you to choose the perfect frames to express your individuality and style.


The in store ‘tech’ also allows you to try fames on, take a picture of yourself, and immeditaley upload to social media so your friends can help you decide on a frame.

The actual eye test is also a new experience, a personal, thorough service in a clean, contemporary environment where you are offered complimentary coffee or organic carrot juice, in a room which has bespoke wallpaper, designed with an intriguing tessellation of the Kite logo.


The staff are passionate, trained and go above and beyond in customer service.

Alongside all that, they are an affordable luxury. Non- prescription from £95 and Zeiss prescription at around £145, for a statement fashion accessory that’s a bargain in our eyes. (sorry bad joke!). They also make all frames as sunglasses.
