Hottest Handbags: Autumn 2015
With the 5p carrier bag charge coming into force this month, it’s no coincidence that big handbags are in fashion. We need something that is going to look good while cleverly concealing that pint of milk, loaf of bread and pizza you are having for dinner later.
So we’ve picked our favourites for hitting this autumn’s key trends – our tips for stylishly avoiding that 5p charge that we still haven’t got used to yet.
The bigger the better
There are some great bags out there at the moment, from nice big shoppers and totes to roomy leather backpacks. Duffle bags are also becoming really popular and are a personal favourite here at Janes HQ.
Bulaggi two-tone tote Next – £65
Bonded pocket shopper Asos – £28
Bucket bag Zara – £29.99
But it’s not all huge bags this autumn/winter. We love the cute cross-body bags too – like saddle bags which would look great with some cute ankle boots and an oversized scarf.
Tan saddle bag Next – £20
Mini buckle camera bag New Look – £12.99
A fringe affair
Also this winter, you can’t go wrong with a bit of fringe. The festival look has been spilling over from the summer and is holding its ground on the high street this autumn.
Shoulder bag H&M – £24.99
Fringed crossbody Topshop – £38
Too cool for school
Backpacks used to be something you associated with kids going to school but now they are a chic, easy way to carry your life around. If you have a lot of work to take home or you need to carry a laptop with you, this is the perfect bag to ease the load on your arms. With a choice of boxy, fringed, fabric or leather, there is a backpack for everyone.
Grafea mini backpack Asos – £145
City Backpack Herschel Supply Co – £50
