Festival Fashion: what’s in & what’s out!
Here at Janes we’ve just got back from a fantastic weekend away at Glastonbury. It was the year of Dolly Parton, with many festival-goers dressing up as the witty songstress and singing along with the 100,000 strong crowd at the Pyramid stage.

Whilst imitating Dolly was a popular fashion choice for some (mostly men actually) we saw lots of new and exciting trends when walking around the Glastonbury site.
If you plan on heading to any other festivals this summer: T in the Park, Latitude, Creamfields, Reading and Leeds, let this be your guide to what’s in and what’s out for this year’s festival fashion…
WHAT’S IN
ROUND SUNNIES: A ridiculously popular choice, round sunnies are definitely a festival favourite this year, get yours from Topshop, ASOS and Urban Outfitters.
PLAIN CROP TOPS WITH CHUNKY ACCESSORIES:Invest in a few plain crop tops like the ones at Boohoo, layer them up with necklaces and pair with some high waisted shorts. It was one of our favourite festival looks.
BANDANAS:Forget the flower garlands, 2014 is all about bandanas. Fab for covering up four days worth of unwashed hair!
GLITTER:Glitter everywhere, literally everywhere. We are still finding traces of it now.
SEQUIN OUTFITS:Stand out in the crowd in a sequined outfit, whether you go for a crop top, hot pants or a bodysuit, sequins are definitely in.
NON-MOVERS
HUNTER WELLIES:Hunters will always be the most popular brand of wellies at Glasto or at any UK festival; this year the Original Gloss Short’s were a favourite. Grab your pair here.
BUM BAGS:A festival necessity, Aztec bum bags are still all the rage and they’re very handy to quickly access your cash/suncream/hand sanitizer!
BAND TSHIRTS:Band tees will always be a non-mover, people love wearing them at festivals, fact.
FACE PAINT:It’s a festival tradition to have face paint smothered all over your face, but maybe best to apply it before having a few drinks.
WHAT’S OUT
FLOWER GARLANDS:This might be a little mean, but this year at Glastonbury we hardly saw anyone wearing them! But, if you are still a fan, the bigger the better, subtle flower garlands are definitely a design of the past.
STRAW HATS:Swap your straw hat for a bandana and leave the farmer inspired trend in the past!
