A cut above the rest, (literally) Culottes are big, big, big this season and we love, love, love them here at Janes! Stylish, feminine and comfortable are 3 adjectives unusual to women’s high fashion so we are psyched that these culottes back!
This summer our Brownie Guide days were loving the variety of colours, materials and lengths that the high street offered.
Did you know, Culottes were most commonly known in the Victorian era when they were invented for female horseback riders so they could sit astride a saddle yet still look classically feminine? Conventions may have changed slightly since that of our Victorian sisters but we are loving this revived fashion.
As the temperature drops we are investing in Midi-Culottes. Wear with a classic fitted white shirt and court shoes for work, a bandeau top and big pearls for a night out, chunky winter ankle boots or ballet pumps and a fitted jumper for the weekend.
We love Culottes, and after all we only have 2 hands in that pesky winter wind; one for our handbag and one for our wonderous winter hats. Praise the lord for midi – Culottes!
