With the awards season in full-swing, we have been overwhelmed with red carpet outfit envy. The 2016 Critic’s Choice Awards were no exception, with some of our all-time favourite celebrities and some brand new faces looking absolutely stunning at last night’s event.

Critics' Choice Awards 2016: Best Looks

From Krysten Ritter’s sparkles, to Saoirse Ronan’s stunning sleeve detail, take a look at our handpicked selection of some of the best looks from the red carpet:

RACHEL MCADAMS

One of our favourites from the entire night, Rachel McAdams’ maroon dress stole the Spotlight (get it?!). The actress paired her Elie Saab frock with tousled hair, simple eye make up and a bold lip colour.

ALICIA VIKANDER

We love that the beautiful actress opted for a fun beaded frock, who else could pull off a Mary Katrantzou as well as Alicia Vikander? She took home a gong for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Danish Girl.

KRYSTEN RITTER

The Jessica Jones star wore a Zuhair Murad dress for the occasion and carried on one of the big trends at the Golden Globes: sparkles. Fans of the Netflix show will be happy to hear that is has been renewed for a second season.

SAOIRSE RONAN

At first we were unsure of this look, but Antonio Berardi has won us over with the stunning sleeve detail. Unfortunately the actress missed out on an award for Best Actress for Brooklyn, but she certainly won us over as one of the best dressed of the evening.

EDEN SHER

We are never huge fans of black and white dresses, but The Middle’s Eden Sher managed to change our mind with this Rubin Singer frock. We also loved that she also chose to forego a necklace to keep the attention on the playful dress.

AYA CASH

Last but certainly not least, when in doubt, opt for a lady suit. They were a big hit in 2015 and we are glad to see they still have prominence at this years award season. The gold tipped heels are a lovely addition, too.
