Every now and again history repeats itself, styles come back into fashion, trends reemerge and accessories resurface as the seasons must have, but we never predicted the choker regeneration…

90’s Throwback: The Choker Trend

Chokers were all the rage in the 90’s, Drew Barrymore seemed to be at the forefront of the trend with her never ending collection of the close-fitting necklaces, but she wasn’t the only celebrity wearing them.

Do you remember a young Natalie Portman in Léon? She sported a thick black choker with a sun pendant. Jenny from the block a.k.a J-Lo wore hers with pride and even Jared Leto donned a string choker once upon a time!

Skip ahead to 2014 and we welcome back chokers, in all their grungy glory. Once again, celebrities cannot get enough of the trend, from Cara Delevingne, to Chlöe Moretz, to Katy Perry; they are seen to be wearing chokers on any and every occasion.

Here at Janes we’ve been scanning the high street for some of our favourite chokers, from the chunkier style to those with pretty little pendants, have a look at what we found…
