Star Wars Felicity Jones leading lady
The new Star Wars film, Rogue One, will have one of our favourite Oscar-nominated actresses, Felicity Jones, at its helm.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters) Rogue One is set to be a spin-off from the Star Wars franchise. At the moment details about the film are few and far between as Disney are refusing to give away any potential plot spoilers.
The current writer for the film, Chris Weitz, has scripted a variety of films prior to Rogue One. They range from children’s films such as Antz and The Golden Compass to a handful pretty decent films including American Pie and About a Boy.
Many believe Felicity Jones will be taking on the role of Princess Leia in the film because she looks very similar to Carrie Fisher who portrayed her in the original Star Wars trilogy.
We think Jones would do a fantastic job as Princess Leia, but sadly at the moment this is very much a rumour. In fact, so far there has been no discussion if Rogue One will even connect to any of the films in the main saga. Disney has only revealed that it will explore “characters and events beyond the core Star Wars saga”.
Jones rose to fame playing Jane Hawking in the Theory of Everything alongside the gorgeous Eddie Redmayne, who recently won the 2015 Best Actor Oscar for his fantastic portrayal of Stephen Hawking in the film.
Rogue One has a release date for December 16 2016.
