The Victoria’s Secret Twitter account announced last week that 10 new Angels were joining the runway! The models ranged from a pro basketball player to a former ballroom dancer. The 10 fresh faces will be joining the Victoria’s Secret established Angels, Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Lily Aldridge, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel. Take a look at the 10 new Angels who just earned their wings…
1.ELSA HOSK
AGE: 26
ABOUT: Once a pro basketball player but now she has decided to swap the court for a runway.
2.TAYLOR MARIE HILL
AGE: 19
ABOUT: Discovered when she was just 14, Taylor was born to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel. The American model was voted “2015’s most promising model” by Courturesque’s readers.
3.MARTHA HUNT
AGE: 26
ABOUT: Martha’s first runway was in 2007 at Paris Fashion Week whee she walked for Issey Miyake. Since then, she has walked more than 180 fashion shows.
4.KATE GRIGOREVA
AGE: 25
ABOUT: The Russian model was the runner-up in the 2012 edition of Russia’s Next Top Model. Soon after she was signed by a modelling agency and moved to New York.
5.MONIKA JAGACIAK
AGE: 21
ABOUT: The Polish model comes from a very athletic background, her sister was recently announced as Poland’s best long jumper. In interviews she has stated that if she were not modelling she would be training like her sister.
6.LAIS RIBEIRO
AGE: 24
ABOUT: The Brazilian model started modelling locally in 2009, but was soon noticed by agencies worldwide. She has walked major international catwalks for designers such as Chanel and Gucci.
7.STELLA MAXWELL
AGE: 23
ABOUT: Northern Irish Model Stella Maxwell was discovered whilst she was studying at Otago University in New Zealand. The young model loves hiking and travelling.
8.ROMEE STRIJD
AGE: 19
ABOUT: A Dutch model with major interests in interior design and cooking, she likes to stay fit with running and boxing. She has yet to land in US Vogue, but has appeared in Vogue Netherlands and Vogue UK.
9.SARA SAMPAIO
AGE: 23
ABOUT: Portuguese model Sara Sampaio is best known for working with Lipsy. She was the first ever Portuguese model to star in the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimwear Issue.
10.JASMINE TOOKES
AGE: 24
ABOUT: As a child she practiced gymnastics for 4 years and played high school volleyball. Her breakthrough campaigns were in 2010 for Ugg boots and Gap.
The newest Angels recently participated in Victoria’s Secret inaugural “International Bombshell Day” as a way to encourage women to “embrace their ‘inner Bombshell,’ spend time with friends and, maybe, do a little shopping,” the press release said.
Expect to see more of these ladies in 2015!
