Daniel Craig bids farewell to 007
In a recent interview with Time Out Magazine, Daniel Craig talked about the possibility of taking on James Bond again after Spectre and unfortunately for us, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen!
The actor joked with the interviewer claiming: “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” when asked if he would reprise his role. “We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
Until now, Craig has kept a low-profile about the possibility of taking on 007 again, but he did that that the only reason he would do it again “would only be for the money”. Considering he was paid $10.7m Skyfall we are not surprised why he wouldn’t pass it up!
It seems Daniel Craig is looking to take a break from acting, or at least with high-profile roles, as in an interview back in August he said: “I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit…I’m incredibly fortunate. But the day I can walk into a pub and someone goes, ‘Oh, there’s Daniel Craig’ and then just leaves me alone, that’ll be great.” Hopefully he’s changed his mind since then!
In terms of a successor, the actor did not pick any names but instead wished whoever it is luck and further commented: “All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we’ve left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better.”
It will be sad to bid farewell to Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond, but that doesn’t stop us getting excited for Spectre! Watch the latest trailer below:
