Actor Robin Williams dies aged 63
Beloved actor Robin Williams has been found dead at his home, aged 63.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Department in California said…
‘On August 11, 2014, at approximately 11.55am, Marin County Communications received a 911 telephone call reporting a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon, California.The male subject, pronounced deceased at 12.02pm has been identified as Robin McLaurin Williams.At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia.’
The late actor had been battling with severe depression.
Williams was best known for his incredible comedy and starring roles in films such as Mrs Doubtfire and Jumanji. He won critical acclaim, along with an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting, opposite Matt Damon, and is also remembered for films such as the iconic, Good Morning Vietnam.
The actor’s wife, Susan Schneider, released the following statement…
‘This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one if its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope that the focus will not be on Robin’s death but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.’
We are so terribly sad to hear of yet another incredible talent has been lost in such sad circumstances and we will certainly be remembering the countless moments of laughter and his amazing ability to bring a character to life.
