David Gandy: undressed
Arguably one of the most successful male models ever, David Gandy was catapulted to fame after winning a television modelling contest and being cast in ‘those’ Dolce & Gabbana white pants.
Born in Billericay, Essex in 1980 Gandy graduated university and was quickly entered into a model search competition without his knowledge, to his surprise, he won. And has never looked back. We’d like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to whoever sent that form in!
His classically chiseled features and muscular build paved a new way for male models – as his popularity rose designers steered away from an androgynous, skinny look to a more masculine standard. His Dolce & Gabbana campaign earned him ‘icon’ status.
He is now a regular face in the fashion world and sought after off the catwalk. From writing a blog for British Vogue, car reviews for British GQ and regularly attending the FROWS, David Gandy seems to be doing no wrong. And we for one are more than pleased!
Continue the good work David…
