At the end of 2014, Calvin Harris was named as the new face of Emporio Armani, initially we were not too fussed by the news, but now the underwear campaign has arrived we are extremely impressed!
The 31-year-old shows off his extremely tight torso in black and white pictures from his modeling debut for Emporio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2015 range.
Calvin seems a natural, posing in front of the camera with a sexy shouldering look on his face, morphing from world-class DJ to a particularly chiseled model.
The images from the campaign were taken by Boo George, who counts Louis Vuitton, Emanuel Ungaro and Barney’s New York amongst his commercial clients. He is known for his candid, documentary-like shots, previously shooting Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham and even Christian Grey himself, Jamie Dornan.
Talking about the campaign, Armani discussed the importance of Harris’ popularity with the ‘masses’: ‘Calvin Harris is a truly cosmopolitan, dynamic young man who is capable of attracting the masses with his music and energy. He isn’t a model by nature, and this creates a more sincere and engaging bond with the public.’
The DJ has followed in the footsteps of other celebrities, who have removed their clothes to star in ad campaigns, think David Beckham for H&M and one of our favourite models David Gandy who designed and modeled a range of underwear for Marks & Spencer. Oh and let us not forget Mark Wahlberg also had a Calvin Klein underwear campaign back in the 1990’s…
Back in December, Calvin spoke highly about his love of the brand and what it is like to be part of the campaign: “It’s incredible to be working with Mr Armani and his team at Emporio Armani. I feel an affinity to the brand ethos and have been a long time admirer of their designs.”
Along with fronting the underwear campaign, Harris is also the face of Emporio Armani’s eyewear and watch collection.
Not only is Calvin the world’s highest paid DJ, with hit songs such as We Found Love, Dance Wiv Me and Summer, but he also looks incredible in just a pair of pants.
