Spring Beauty Edit
This month is a spring inspired beauty edit. That means lighter dewy makeup and brighter, lighter hair in preparation for summer. Enjoy!
The Spring Beauty Edit
Our writer Rhian shares her top spring beauty edit picks for fresh spring products.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
I have to admit, it took me a long time to get on board with tinted moisturisers, but as my skin has improved lately, I finally understand the benefit of them. The Laura Mercier offering is super lightweight with a flawless coverage, it is ideal for a minimal makeup look, a lazy Sunday or a beach day. It also has SPF 20 which is great for the upcoming sunny weather!
John Lewis, £34
Leighton Denny Lip Duals
The new Lip Duals by Leighton Denny are a great versatile lip option. The lip duals contain a long-lasting lip stain and a creamy lipstick which last a really long time without drying on the lips. You can use this product in a few different ways, using the lip stain as a standalone product for a daytime look or applying the stain first and the lipstick on top for an intense look. Hot Gossip is a lovely pinky coral colour which is ideal for spring/summer and Ravishing Red is a great high impact shade.
LD Boutique, £17.50
Real Techniques Complexion Sponge
This is another purchase that I took a while to get on board with. This is mainly down to not using it properly (doh!). The best way to use it is to rinse with water, squeeze out any excess and use the sponge to smooth out foundation or apply concealer. It is a great multi-use tool.
KC Professional Color Mask: Pearl
This color mask is a unique intensive treatment that aims to maintain your current shade of coloured hair. I used the Pearl shade which is ideal for light coloured hair. After leaving the mask on for around 5 minutes I noticed the difference in hair texture immediately, I could run my fingers through my hair and it felt easier to style afterwards too. Don’t be alarmed by the colour of the product, the mask was a dark red/purple colour and I thought I’d picked up the wrong one at first. Overall the mask made my colour look better and less brassy, I can’t wait to use this more as my colour starts to fade. They also have fab shampoos and conditioners to use together as an effective haircare routine.
Launching in salons nationwide from May 2016
L’Oreal Paris Miss Manga mascara
Another beauty edit, another mascara recommendation. Mascara is one product I am totally disloyal to, I like to try different ones all the time as there are so many great ones to choose from. Having said that, I do really enjoy this mascara it is very voluminous and the wand is great for separating the lashes and doesn’t go clumpy at all. I’ve found since using this that I’ve been ditching the thick black eyeliner and going for a more natural look with just some simple eyeshadow and this mascara.
That’s our spring beauty edit picks!
