J’adore French Beauty Products
Today we are declaring our love for all things French beauty and skincare. It seems like some of the most hyped products at the moment are coming from France. See what we thought of the following products…
First up, we had to kick start with the Bioderma Sebium H20 Micelle solution, this stuff has reached serious cult status amongst beauty experts and we can see why. It can be used as the first step in your morning or evening skincare routine to cleanse and purify skin by gently removing all traces of make-up. It is great for removing heavy make-up by soaking a cotton pad in the solution and placing over the eye, holding for a few seconds and then wiping away. This product really does deserve all the praise it has received, and we are delighted that it is becoming more readily available in the UK. Get it at escentual.com.
We couldn’t talk about all things french without mentioning one of our favourite brands, Clarins. We love them because they have such a vast range of products and rarely get it wrong.
Currently we are loving the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, this works great to soften, exfoliate and hydrate the skin, it is as it says, gentle and it doesn’t feel abrasive or drying on the skin whatsoever. We noticed a huge difference after the first application, the packaging says it should be used 1-2 times a week, but think it would be fine to use it more regularly. Follow up with a dedicated brightening toner if you have one in your stash for seriously soft and glowy skin.
Next up, we need to express our love for La Roche-Posay, they are a french company that specialise in expert dermatological skincare. We first heard about this brand when we purchased the Effaclar Duo, one of the best known products on their roster.
It aims to reduce the appearance of imperfections and unclog pores by applying it morning and night with your normal moisturiser or without, we prefer with as the face can feel a little dry without a normal moisturiser mixed in. This is a holy grail product for us, it has been there through some serious breakouts and mountainous spots but it has always helped to reduce the overall appearance of our skin overnight.
So after such success with our first encounter we wanted to try something else from La Roche-Posay, whilst on the hunt for a new daily moisturiser we opted for the Toleriane Soothing Protective Skincare.
The perfect moisturiser can be a very personal and varied decision for all, but we believe that when you apply a great moisturiser you almost shouldn’t realise its there, a no-fuss product is the key. We love using this stuff as our daily moisturiser because it hydrates and protects with little fuss. You need to apply a very small amount to the face and neck, don’t apply too much as it can look greasy. La Roche-Posay’s skincare is now available at your local Boots, so no need to hop onto the Eurostar to get your fix.
Lastly, we had to mention Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm. This is a must-have product if you have chapped lips, the super thick balm helps to nourish dry lips, and that it does.
We enjoy using this as the last step in our evening skincare routine, try it before bed and you will wake up to super soft lips. It is also great to use prior to applying lipsticks as it has a matte texture that doesn’t leave any shine or gloss on the lips.
We hope you enjoyed our little parisian round-up. Let us know if there are any french products you couldn’t live without @tweetjanes
