I think we can all admit that during the snowy/rainy months we are guilty of neglecting our moisturising routine somewhat, lets be honest, its just another thing we have to do before snuggling into our cosy bed with our favourite teddy/boyfriend/pillow! However, the weather has finally reached above 10 degrees marking the beginning of British summertime, so it might be time to start thinking about cranking up the bodycare routine in aid of super soft skin.
We have been trying out a few essentials in preparation and we couldn’t wait to share them with you guys!
The first thing you need is a good exfoliating scrub to peel away the dead skin cells and leave skin prepped and ready to face the world. We recommend the Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub, it is gentle on the skin whilst also having the exfoliating beads necessary to remove dry skin. Use this with exfoliating gloves paying special attention to dry areas, we’re talking elbows, knees and ankles.
Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub – £5.50 (minis £2.50)
Next up, our feet. We all want to have beautifully smooth feet to slip into a lovely pair of sandals this summer, but if you cant afford a pedicure every few weeks here’s what we recommend. Firstly, you will need to find a good foot grater *shudder *. We recommend investing in a Ped-egg, they are quite pricey at about £10 a pop, but they are incredibly fuss-free and easy to use because all the yucky bits are contained within the ped-egg until you are finished, then you just simply through away the excess debris and clean. You will want to apply a good foot lotion next, we use Lush Fairtrade Foot Lotion. It’s ingredients include spearmint and cocoa butter which leave your feet feeling wonderfully clean and tingly-fresh.
Ped-egg – £9.99
Lush Fairtrade Foot Lotion – £8.95
An essential part of your body care routine should be a good moisturiser, you want something that will last all day but feels light and fresh on the skin, there are a few products that we have been reaching for this spring that fall perfectly into this category. First up is the Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil, this is a really lightweight oil which aims to nourish and perfect the skin. The spray applicator makes it really easy to apply and it blends into the skin really well. You just need to wait a few moments before getting dressed, to ensure it doesn’t transfer onto clothes. We think this would be perfect to take on holiday, as its a great size, without being a travel sample.
Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil – £7.99
Last but by no means least is the Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion. This has to be one of our favourite products of the summer so far. Soap & Glory do so well at providing beautifully scented products that make you feel all happy inside. It has Almond, Cocoa, Yogurt, Oat & Honey scents in it, and it smells good enough to eat (seriously craving a smoothie right now!). The smell isn’t the only thing we love about this body lotion, its great that it comes in such a sizeable bottle with a pump applicator, it will definitely last well into summer and back through to winter again. Which knowing our luck will be in about a months time!
Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion – £10
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
We hope you have enjoyed this little guide to super soft skin. Have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite body lotions to use for summer?
