Edith’s House, Crouch End

Crouch End has a lot going for it, there’s an abundance of bars, boutique shops and not to mention our new favourite cafe in London, Edith’s House.

We have visited a fair few quirky cafes in our time, but nothing could have prepared us for Edith’s House. From the outside, it seems as though you’re peering into a house from an era gone by, until you notice menus on the tables and see waitresses serving tea.

The whole cafe is designed to resemble an old fashioned house. As you walk inside, you enter the living room, with loads of comfy large chairs and little living room tables. Strolling in further, you’ll reach the ensuite bathroom and bedroom. You can even have a slice of cake whilst sat on the toilet, or enjoy a cup of tea propped up in bed.

It’s the perfect spot for a bit of brunch on the weekend, or for an early breakfast before you go to work during the week. Edith’s is dog friendly, so for those of you with a pet pooch, don’t forget to bring them along with you. Roux the resident French bulldog is always happy to make new friends.

The menu has all the typical breakfast choices, from bacon butties, to granola and fruit. But if you want to try something different, we recommend the breakfast bundle, a gluten free potato scone topped with spinach, slow roasted tomatoes and a poached egg, finished with Edith’s house dressing. Wash it all down with tea or coffee or request a bottle of cordial, we opted for dandelion and burdock and were not disappointed.

On occasion Edith’s will host house parties, featuring sharing plates, cocktails, craft beer, prosecco, and all of the best 80’s dance tracks. The party starts at 8 and will keep you going ’til late. The best way to find out when the next house party is, is via Edith’s Facebook page.
