Following on from the previous Budget vs. Blowout post about foundations, we thought it was time to focus on a different make-up product – so here is our comparison of two gorgeous mascaras we love this month!

Budget VS. Blowout: Mascara

The Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara has been a firm favourite between us Janes for a while now. There are a few different types among the range including limited editions, fusion ranges and a waterproof option – let’s not get tied up in the finer details here, let’s just say that this mascara is a godsend. Too much? We don’t think so.

It aims to provide volume from tip to top and it certainly delivers. The large IFX brush really helps to accentuate even the smallest of lashes. It works great as an everyday mascara, but also perfect for a night out, it has great staying power and 3pm panda eyes are a thing of the past!
Priced at only £10.99, we think it gives more luxury products some serious competition.

The Clinique High Impact mascara is a new favourite of ours because it provides a lot of length and thickness to lashes and really separates each lash which gives a gorgeous wide-eyed look. There is also an waterproof option, which holds up well and is easy to remove without irritating sensitive eyes, something which can be a problem with other waterproof alternatives.

The Clinique option is a little pricier at £16, although not by a great deal and we do think this is reasonably priced in line with the competition and other Clinique products.

If you are debating which one to purchase, go for both! Still under £30 for two great products!
