There is something about Bonfire Night that we all just love. Warm clothes, hot chocolate, friends and amazing brightly coloured firework displays across the country. What isn’t to like? Here at Average Janes HQ, we’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pieces of bright makeup that will make even the fireworks look dull!

Baby, you're a firework!

Here are our faves:

Mac lipstick

In ‘Violetta’ – £15.50

This shade would look great with a thin line of eye liner and minimal blusher. Pair it with an oversized black knitted jumper and some skinny jeans for daytime and rev it up with a long sleeved dress for a night on the town.

OPI nail lacquer

In ‘Landscape Artist’ – around £10

A daring shade, but give it a try! This vibrant green is a great colour to wear with a dark green or khaki jumper. In this OPI collection there is also a bright orange shade which would look great with browns for autumn.

Zoeva Graphic Eyes eyeliner

In ‘Rock & Roll Bride’ and ‘Close to Heaven’ – from £4.30 each

These eyeliners are such a welcome change from the safe ‘black’ we always see. A picture doesn’t really do them full justice – these are super shimmery and the darker colour (Rock & Roll Bride) has copper flecks in it. Both shades can be played down by wearing alone.

Zoeva Pigment eyeshadows

Pigments – from £4.10 each

Alternatively, go all-out using the eyeliners as an awesome addition to a bright eyeshadow like these ones, also from Zoeva. We’ve tried out the gorgeous shades ‘Daydreamer’ (silver/blue) and ‘Anahata’ (green/gold) and love their metallic sheen. Ideal for heading into the party season.

Bareminerals ‘Precious Gems’

Set of three lip balms – £25

Make your lips ‘pop’ with this fantastic trio of lip oil-balms. The shades are great for taking your party outfit from day to night, just in time for the fireworks.

Urban Decay Electric Palette

Palette – £38

This array of colours will put any fireworks display to shame. This is certainly not for the faint hearted and will get you noticed wherever you go on Bonfire Night.

Benefit They’re Real mascara

In Beyond Blue – £19.50

This might look a bit like that mascara you got for Christmas 1997, but give it a chance. ‘Out there’ mascaras are ‘so in’ and this one’s perfect if you want to make an impression.

They’re our top picks for burning bright like a firework! What are your fave colourful beauty pieces? Share with us @tweetjanes
