Apres-Ski Skincare

Apres-Ski Skincare

After a day zooming and shoop-shooping down the slopes, the ravages of wind, cold and snow can mean that our skin is left yearning for some much-needed TLC. True, we’re usually bundled up pretty tight for a day on the piste, but the parts that do get exposed – face, lips and occasionally hands as we grip essential ski-break hot chocolate – can do with apres-ski skincare love at the end of each day’s adrenalin-fuelled activities.

So to help you out, we’ve gathered a few of our favourite deeply-moisturising treats for apres-ski skincare, perfect to pop into your luggage if you’re off to the slopes this season.

Braving the elements: Apres-Ski Skincare

Keep a few of these beauties on hand and then hit the apres-ski party hard!

Apres-Ski skincare products

Face

If, like us, you like your sleep to be beauty sleep, then Clarins Hydraquench Mask is the product for you! Pop it on overnight and let it do it’s magic. Packed with hydrating goodies, your skin will be wonderfully soft by morning. If you’re after something less spendy then we’ve always relied on the Simple Kind to Skin range – really great if you have sensitive skin and a clean-smelling, non-greasy formula. You could even pick up a bottle at the airport before you travel.

Don’t forget your sunscreen – no one wants to come back from a week on the slopes with panda goggles. Boots’ Soltan range includes a great face sun cream at Factor 50+, ideal for protecting your skin from the reflective glare of the slopes.

Hands

For a bit of indulgence in perfect pocket-size, we love L’Occitane’s travel size hand cream. The lavender scent is our current favourite – subtle and soothing, ideal for calming you down after the adrenalin rush of a day on the slopes. If you’re after a cheaper treat, we find Neutrogena’s Norwegian hand cream super-moisturising and very absorbent. Again, it comes in a small size, great for popping into your luggage.

Lips

Finally, chapped lips can be really painful if you’re exposed to sun, wind and snow all day long. Keep lips perfectly pouty with a little tube of Carmex – this cheap treat lasts for hours so you won’t be faffing around getting it in and out of your ski jacket all day long.

So there you have it, our top picks for a bit of self-indulgent apres-ski skincare.
