Winter Skincare Edit

Winter skincare edit Average Janes

In this cold weather, it’s vital to use winter skincare that’s going to hydrate and nourish dry skin. If your skin is in need of a boost, try out this night-time routine has proven to combine great beauty products to achieve maximum hydration.

Removing make-up

To remove make-up and act as the first cleanse in the routine, try the Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil. It’s a brilliant oil that easily removes make-up, including waterproof eye make-up. It works effectively on all skin types, including sensitive skin. You just need three pumps of oil to cover your whole face – then add some water to produce a milky texture before removing with a damp cloth. The skin feels visibly smoother and with a refined texture.

Caring for winter skin

Cleansing

For the second cleanse in your routine, use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. It is a simple, no-fuss cleanser that works to cleanse skin from excess oil, dirt and debris that naturally builds over the day. This foaming cleanser doesn’t strip the skin like other foaming cleansers tend to do. It is a liquid formula that is suitable for all skin types. It works great in this night-time routine, but could also form part of your morning routine too.

To ensure that every scrap of make-up is removed, the Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser is a great product to finish off your cleansing routine. It is a bi-phase product containing cleansing and toning properties which aim to renew radiance in the skin. Shake the bottle to combine the ingredients and apply to a cotton pad, smoothing it over the skin but avoiding contact with your eyes. No rinsing required. This a great product to have when you’re travelling too – if you don’t have your full kit with you, this can ensure that you’re still removing impurities and hydrating the skin.

Boost your night cream

The NUXE Nuxellence Detox is a product that works really well with your ordinary night cream. It’s an anti-aging treatment that works overnight to recharge your skin and detoxify cells. You will wake up with a plump, bright complexion – what more could you ask for? Additional bonus – it smells really luxurious!

Try a facial oil

A skin oil is essential to an evening routine for its great hydrating properties. The current oil in our rotation is The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil which combines the power of a serum and an oil in one product. Add a few drops to your moisturiser each evening to help restore and recharge skin overnight.

Last, but not least

Lastly, you can’t forget about eye cream (although it’s so easy to forget). A current favourite is the Rio Rosa Mosqueta Eye Contour Cream, which is packed full of wonderful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and rosehip seed oil. This offering from natural skincare brand Rio Rosa Mosqueta helps to plump away fine lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is not irritating to the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy film around the eyes – perfect!
