6 Ice Cream, Cambridge – Deepa’s recommendation
Incredible ice cream parlour with a daily changing menu of scrumptious flavours, freshly churned each morning. Whether you’ve got kids to entertain, or are just a big kid at heart, grab an old-fashioned ice cream treat. Very instagrammable!
Four Winters, London – Nell’s recommendation
Four Winters Ice Cream is a great concept, originally from Jordan and recently opened in Gloucester Road, London. Their ice cream is made to order right in front of you using liquid ingredients, which are then blasted with dry ice to create a creamy, smooth, frozen texture. You can add toppings to make the flavour as unique as you like. Deliciously smooth and rich, and the staff are lovely, knowledgeable and passionate. Be sure to check it out!
LIC Strawberry Daiquiri, order online
Frozen cocktails in a lolly you say? Sign us up! The latest addition to the LIC range is this lip-smacking strawberry daiquiri flavour, made with top notch plantation rum. At only 67 calories and £3 each they are an easily-justifiable snack!
Sweet Ally Scoops, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas – Becky’s recommendation
Ally takes her pretty-in-pink vintage van around Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties (including Bedford, Essex and Herts) serving up mouth-watering combinations of homemade gelato. We’ve sampled a fair few flavours and Salted Treacle and classic Mint Choc hit our top list. She can also be hired for weddings and events.
Amorino, London – Holly’s recommendation
The real selling point of this gorgeous Italian-style gelato is the creative way it is served – styled as a stunning rose. Almost too pretty to eat (we said almost…). Fun for kids, or for bringing out your romantic side with a partner.
The Ice Cream Bar, Warner Leisure Hotels
The geniuses as Warner Leisure have set up a travelling ice cream bar – with an adult-only twist. The ice cream van serves up mouthwatering flavours with a boozy spin – we’ve got our eyes on the Vodka Martini sorbet, or be brave and try Bacon & Bourboun! Keep an eye on the hashtag #GrownUpIceCream to find out where it will be travelling.
Gin & Tonic Lollies – Make Your Own! Becky’s top tip
And finally, if none of these are nearby – why not make your own? Grab some cheap ice lolly moulds, mix up your combination and pop into the freezer – check out this super-cool recipe.
That’s our pick of the hottest ice cream spots – we’ll see you in the queue!
