Delicious Summer Cocktails

There’s nothing better on a warm summer’s day than a refreshing cocktail. So we’ve done the hard work for you and complied a selection of the tastiest cocktails you can create at home.

From a classic mojito to a strawberry daiquiri check out these easy-to-follow recipes and be the hit at a summer party serving up some delicious homemade cocktails.

3 cocktails you can make at home:

Strawberry Daiquiri

Prep time: less than half an hour
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
– 16 fresh strawberries, plus a few half strawberries for garnish
– 8 tsp white sugar
– 6 fl oz white rum
– 1 tbsp strawberry liquer
– 4 fl oz lime juice

Method:

    1. Grab your cocktail shaker and chuck in the strawberries, sugar, rum, strawberry liquer and lime juice.
    2. Mash together with the end of a clean rolling pin.
    3. Place the lid onto the cocktail shaker and shake throughly.
    4. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass and garnish with half a strawberry.

If you fancy making frozen strawberry daiquiri, simply follow the steps above, but add 3 scoops of ice and blend the mixture together instead.

Classic Mojito

Prep time: less than half an hour
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
– 6 limes, cut into wedges
– 40 fresh mint leaves
– 10 tsp granulated sugar
– a large handful of ice
– 10 fl oz white rum
– splash soda water (if desired)

Method:

  1. Grab your cocktail shaker and chuck in the lime slices, mint and sugar into each of the four glasses and mash together.
  2. Add in the ice and pour in the rum evenly between each glass.
  3. Add soda water if desired (ginger beer also works a treat) and stir well.

Pimms

Prep time: ten minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
– 4 cups of ice cubes
– 1 lemon, cut into thin slices
– 160 ml Pimms
– 125 ml Lemonade
– 125ml ginger ale
– 1/2 cucumber
– handful of strawberries, halved.

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients into a jug and mix together.
  2. Add more lemonade/ginger ale/Pimms to taste.
  3. Pour into four glasses and garnish with half a strawberry.
